3 TEST METHODOLOGY

3.1 EUT SYSTEM OPERATION

1. EMI test program was loaded and executed in Windows 2000 mode.

2. The EMI test program sequentially exercised all I/O’s of EUT.

3. A communicated software was loaded and executed to communicate between EUT

and remote side.

4. The EUT receives message from remote side, and filling the screen of monitor with

upper case of “H” patterns.

5. Repeat 2 to 4.

Note: Test program is self-repeating throughout the test.

3.2 DECISION OF FINAL TEST MODE

1. The following test mode(s) were scanned during the preliminary test:

Mode 1

800 x 600 Resolution with AC Power Supply

Mode 2

640 x 480 Resolution with AC Power Supply

Mode 3

800 x 600 Resolution with DC Power Supply + Power Adapter (LE/ LE-9702B-06)

Mode 4

640 x 480 Resolution with DC Power Supply + Power Adapter (LE/ LE-9702B-06)

Mode 5

800 x 600 Resolution with DC Power Supply + Power Adapter (SINPRO/ SPU65-108)

Mode 6

640 x 480 Resolution with DC Power Supply + Power Adapter (SINPRO/ SPU65-108)

2. After the preliminary scan, the following test mode(s) were found to produce the highest

emission level.

Mode 1, 3, 5

3. For frequencies below 1GHz, there are six mode to use the same CPU, so mode 1 and

mode 3 were chosen for final testing, for frequencies above 1GHz only mode 3 was

chosen because the revision is for the same power source from mode 3 ~ 6.

Then, the EUT configuration and cable configuration of the above highest emission mode

was recorded for all final test items.
